    Our Story

    Our Story

Helping teachers, students and parents collaborate around the life and learning of the student.

    The History

Life Ninja started as an idea shared by friends, Tom and Trevor who met at an antenatal class while expecting their first children. As their children got older and started attending primary schools they recognised the need for technological solutions to solve the problems that many schools, parents and students face daily.

    The Challenge

The difficulty with technology is that it’s only as useful to the extent it is used and is available. They noticed there are a variety of disconnected tools available focussing on different areas of need with many of the most useful features unaffordable for many schools and parents.

    The Vision

Life Ninja has a vision of making education technology affordable to all with a focus on rewarded collaboration where teachers, parents and students all love using the tools. The emphasis on collaboration aims to supercharge students learning, actively engage parents and free up teachers to focus on teaching by reinforcing their students learning and greatly reducing the administration and time burdens they currently face.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

What personal information is needed to set up my Message Ninja account?

Message Ninja accounts are set up around the child, the personal information used to set up the accounts are the child’s name and the parent’s name and email address.

Can other users see my name or my child’s name in the app?

There are two instances where your name and your child’s name are visible to others if you so choose.

The first is in the fundraising section of the app showing the names of the most recent donors. You can easily opt out of having your name (child’s name and parent’s name) displayed when you make a donation.

The second is in group chats. If you participate in a chat your child’s name is displayed with your name alongside it so other users can see who they are chatting to.

Can I send private messages to the school?

Yes, the platform gives schools the option to allow you to send personal messages to the moderators of a chat, these messages are only visible to you and the moderators of the chat. You can see who the moderators are before initiating a private chat.

Can I send private messages to other parents?

No the platform for safety and security reasons does not allow you to search for other users or send them a personal message.

Can other users see messages or content personal to me?

The app is designed to allow the school to send information to individuals or groups. Personal data like a personal school report sent as an attachment would be sent to you personally and a general document like a school newsletter sent to the whole class or school.

A simple way to understand the process is like sending an email, personal information is sent solely to your address and general information sent to everyone blind copied (Bcc). (ie you can’t see who else has received the general message)

    Who controls my personal data?

The school is the Data Controller, Life Ninja provides the platform and acts as a Data Processor for the school. The following links explain your data rights and how your data is used. https://lifeninja.net/privacy/ and  https://lifeninja.net/eula/

Why do you need my email address?

The email address is used to create your secure login. At no point is your email address shared with other users or is visible to other users.
